Our Remediation Process

Turnkey In-Situ Remediation. Zero Downtime. Regulatory Closure.

We understand that environmental liabilities disrupt your business. Our process is designed to eliminate that disruption. Unlike traditional "dig and haul" methods that require heavy excavation, hazardous waste transport, and facility shutdowns, our In-Situ (in-place) approach treats contamination where it sits.

We handle the entire project lifecycle—from the initial site assessment to final regulatory sign-off—allowing you to focus on production while we handle compliance.

The PC Bio Method: In-Situ Remediation Designed for Industry

Step 1: Rapid Assessment & Data Review

We start by defining scope and constraints to support a targeted, cost-effective plan.

  • Data review: We evaluate available site information and analytical results (e.g., TPH, BTEX, chlorides/salinity indicators) along with the site history to understand the contaminant profile.
  • Site reconnaissance (if needed): If data is limited, we conduct a quick field assessment to identify impacted areas and sensitive receptors like surface water, drainage pathways, livestock/wildlife areas, and operational constraints.
  • Feasibility confirmation: We verify whether in-situ biological treatment is suitable for the soil conditions (sand, clay, caliche/compacted pads) and impact levels.

Step 2: Site-Specific Treatment Plan Design

No two sites are identical. We develop a plan matched to your conditions and endpoints.

  • Biological approach selection: We tailor the biological method to the contaminant type, soil conditions, and access limitations (non-proprietary, site-specific planning).
  • Contact & bioavailability strategy: We develop application methods that enhance contact between treatment agents and contamination, including techniques that facilitate the mobilization and availability of weathered hydrocarbons when appropriate.
  • Field conditions planning: We identify practical field requirements (moisture, aeration/oxygen availability, and access) that support biological activity in the impacted zone.

Step 3: Field Deployment (Designed to Minimize Downtime)

Our crews execute efficiently while working safely around active infrastructure.

  • Active operations: We can often work around live wellheads, tank batteries, pipelines, and facility constraints, provided site safety requirements and access controls are met.
  • Controlled application: We administer the treatment to the affected area using proven equipment and methods suited for the site (e.g., spray application and/or targeted placement).
  • Soil conditioning (as needed): For challenging soils such as caliche, heavily compacted pads, or clay-rich zones, we may suggest conditioning or mixing where feasible and permitted to enhance distribution and oxygen flow.

Step 4: Active Treatment & Monitoring

After application, biological activity increases over time under site-specific conditions.

  • Hydrocarbon degradation: The treatment aims to facilitate the natural breakdown of hydrocarbons through biological processes.
  • Progress indicators: Depending on site conditions, you might notice early visual changes (such as reduced staining or improved appearance) while analytical results reflect progress toward endpoints.
  • Adaptive management: We monitor field conditions and results and adjust the approach as needed—tackling hot spots or reapplying where data indicates more treatment is necessary.

Note: Chlorides and salinity are managed differently than hydrocarbons. They are not “destroyed” biologically; progress is tracked through sampling aligned with project objectives and program requirements.

Step 5: Validation & Closure Documentation

We do not rely on assumptions—progress is confirmed with data aligned to the applicable program.

  • Confirmation sampling: We support follow-up sampling to assess results against applicable endpoints for your jurisdiction and program requirements.
  • Site restoration support: Once verification criteria are met, the site can move toward restoration and everyday land use, depending on site conditions and stakeholder requirements.
  • Final reporting: We provide clear documentation suitable for consultant, client, and regulator review to support closure decisions.

Safety & Compliance

PC Bio maintains a safety-first, compliance-focused field culture suitable for industrial sites.

  • Biology-based approach: Uses naturally occurring, non-GMO environmental organisms and biodegradable supporting agents (non-proprietary overview).
  • Site safety alignment: Our teams adhere to client HSE requirements and standard field controls relevant to the location and hazards.

From Liability to Closure

If a spill or legacy impact is sitting on your books, we can help define a practical path to verified progress and closure-ready documentation.
